17 year old Anna Bjørn from Norway speaks at the seminar

Yesterday Arctic Frontiers arranged a seminar in St. Johns, Canada in collaboration with Memorial University Newfoundland. The theme for the event, which was hosted by Johnson GEO CENTRE, was ocean knowledge and research in Norway and Canada. Moderators were Dr. Anne Husebekk, Rector of UiT The Arctic University of Norway and Dr. Gary Kachanoski, President And Vice-Chancellor of Memorial University of Newfoundland. The event was also attended by His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Norway.

About the seminar:

We live in the century of the ocean. In the Arctic, we see a particular need to address questions related to marine biodiversity, responsible management of resources and the effects of climate change. How do we work in order to ensure top quality research? Can we do better in sharing results? Can ocean research lead us to new findings and push green solutions? How can Canada and Norway strengthen our cooperation on research?
