We are very pleased to have Hege Kverneland, Corporate Vice President and CTO of National Oilwell Varco speak at Arctic Frontiers Business 2016. Kverneland has more than 20 years of experience from engineering and product management. At Arctic Frontiers she will speak on the technological development in offshore petroleum drilling and petroleum production, focusing on automation and big data application to improve remote monitoring of offshore petroleum operations.
Hege Kverneland worked with FluScan from 1991-1994, Hitec in the period 1994-1999, and joined National Oilwell Varco in 1999. She has authored numerous publications within drilling as well as two textbooks on Offshore Hydraulics. She held the position as Corporate R&D manager of National Oilwell Varco from 2001 to 2009 and contributed in several new product developments in this period, including a new Mud Pump Design, different PM-motor designs, Winches, Heave Compensation Systems, Automation and Drilling Optimization projects.
In 2014 Hege Kverneland was ranked Top 50 Most Powerful Women in the US Oil and Gas industry. She holds a M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (1990) and graduated from the General Management Program (GMP) at Harvard Business School in 2009.
