John G. Bernander to moderate Arctic Frontiers Business 2016

We are happy to have appointed John G. Bernander to lead us through what will be an interesting and learning program for Arctic Frontiers Business 2016. Bernander was the Deputy Leader of the Norwegian Conservative Party from 1991-94. He served as conservative MP from 1989-93 and as political advisor and Deputy Minister in the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry.

After deciding to end his political career, Bernander has held several important business positions. From 1993-2001 he was the Head of the Gard P&I Club (Maritime Insurance), from 2001-2007 the CEO and Editor in Chief of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), and in the period 2009-2012 the Director General of the Norwegian Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise. Today he runs his own advisory company as well as serves as an active Non-Executive Director on several boards like GIEK, Kruse Smith AS, Pareto JGO AS, Talent Norge AS, Viking Heat Engines AS and Johan G. Olsen AS. He is also an advisor to Nordic America Tankers Inc. and Nordic America Offshore Ltd.

Bernander grew up in Brooklyn New York and Kristiansand Norway. He holds a law degree from the University of Oslo.
