We are very happy that Professor Daniel Pauly from the University of British Columbia will speak at Arctic Frontiers Policy 2017. Mr Pauly became a professor at UBC’s Fisheries Centre in 1994, after many years at the International Centre for Living Aquatic Resource management (ICLARM); now WorldFish Center, Manila, Philippines.
Dr. Pauly’s scientific output, mainly dedicated to the management of fisheries and ecosystem modelling, comprises numerous publications. He has received a number of awards of excellence for his research. he is a Honorary Professor at Kiel University, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and became awarded one of UBC’s ‘Distinguished University Scholars’ in mid-2003. In 2003 the Scientific American listed him a one of the “50 Research Leader.”
Dr. Pauly is the recipient of five honorary doctorates: from the Aristotle University of Thessanoniki, the Université de Montréal, the Katholieke University Leuven, Wageningen University and the University of Algarve.
