We are very happy to announce that Rúni M. Hansen will speak at Arctic Frontiers Business 2017. Mr Hansen is a Faroese national and the Executive Chairman of the industrial holding company Tjaldur. He is also chairman of Bakkafrost, a leading producer of top quality salmon. He has been chairman for Bakkafrost since 2009, prior to the listing of the company on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE) in 2010.
Rúni M. Hansen has had extensive experience in the international oil and gas industry during his 19 years in Statoil from 1997 to 2016. From 2012 to 2016 he was Head of Statoil’s Arctic Unit and a member of Statoil's Worldwide Exploration Management Team. For a number of years he was the Country Manager for Statoil, in charge of operations in the Faroes and Greenland, including operated drilling campaigns. He has also been the Manager of Commercial and Negotiations for Europe and North Africa in Statoil. During his time in Statoil, he has been based in Copenhagen, London, Oslo, and The Faroe Islands. Prior to Statoil he worked in the shipping and seafood industries.
Rúni M. Hansen was a member of the World Economic Forum´s Global Agenda Council on the Arctic in the Period 2012 - 2016. He holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School and a degree from the Management School of Lancaster University.
