28 of November, the Russian Geographical Society published the results of a joint Norwegian-Russian among students of Russian universities to receive a special grant from the Norwegian Barents Secretariat to participate in the Arctic Frontiers 2017 Arctic Student Forum. The contest was arranged by the Russian Geographical Society and Akvaplan-niva, Norway.
More than 100 applications were qualified for the contest. After evaluation of applications and interviews, the jury has chosen 10 following students from diverse universities and regions of Russia (names in alphabetic order):
1. Arkhipova, Sofia – Voronezh State University; 2. Kamasheva, Nadezhda – Syktyvkar State University named after Sorokin; 3. Khudyakov, Nikita – Northern Arctic Federal University named after Lomonosov, Arkhangelsk; 4. Nikolaev, Robert – North-Eastern Federal University, Yakutsk; 5. Pavlova, Yulia – MGIMO University, Moscow; 6. Redkin, Nikita – Tumen State University; 7. Selivanova, Yulia –Moscow State University named after Lomonosov; 8. Shestakova, Elena – Russian State Hydrometeorological University, St Petersburg; 9. Vertetskaya, Maria – Petrozavodsk State University; 10. Zhigunov, Anton – Omsk State University named after Dostoevsky.
The second Arctic Student Forum within the Arctic Frontiers conference will take place in Tromsø, Norway from 20 to 25 of January, 2017.
