Science for Politics - an Arctic Frontiers event for young politicians January 27

News   •   Jan 09, 2016 18:47 CET

As part of the Science for Schools program Arctic Frontiers and the Science Centre of Northern Norway arranges a Science for Politics event. The event takes place 27 January at the Science Centre of Northern Norway.

The aim of this event is to present some of the exciting and important research that is taking place on Arctic issues. Also, the event aims at being a meeting point were young politicians can meet young scientists and discuss the importance of knowledge in political decision making. Further, we see this as an arena where young northern politicians can meet and discuss overall issues of importance for the future of their region.

The conference day is divided in four different parts:

1.Lectures by young scientists from APECS (The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists)

2.Panel with politicians where we discuss the role as a politician and the importance of science-based political decision making.

3.“The climate capsule”. An interactive game concerning climate change.

4. Café discussion
