Even though next generation fuels still are at a stage of infancy, algae is a renewable with a potential of tremendous growth and opportunity as the world’s transportation industry is getting more and more dependent on fossil fuels. Talking on the prospects for production of biodiesel and other bio-based products from algae, Joel Cuello will argue that algae has been proven as a renewable source of fuels like ethanol, biodiesel and hydrogen, also telling how his research team is working on ways to make algae bio fuels cheaper and commercially feasible. From several scientific communities it has been said that Cuello’s algae research is an important contribution to a breakthrough for one sustainable solution to help the world reduce its dependence on nonrenewable sources.
