London in early November has a lot to offer. The best reason for going is of course the annual Esri European Petroleum GIS conference. Just like last year, we had 21 Norwegian delegates attending, and the event was a success!
This is one of the best opportunities for our petroleum clients to meet colleagues from all over Europe, and to both share stories and learn from others. Additionally it is easy to meet Esri staff, partners and exhibitors. From what I could see, our clients used these opportunities and got new ideas, contacts and lots of inspiration.
We were proud to see that so many of our Norwegian clients put in that extra effort and presented what they have been working on lately. Statoil, Tullow, Det norske and DNV GL went on stage and gave great presentations. Thank you!
Sometimes inspiration is the key. By seeing what others accomplish, and comparing this to your company, you can return home with motivation to either stay ahead of the rest, or let their ideas help you take your GIS to another level.
It has become a tradition to gather all Norwegian delegates for a nice, yet informal, dinner on Thursday evening. This year was no exception and I believe all the 20 participants this year had a great time. Sometimes we need to sit down in a relaxed atmosphere and just get to know each other better. I know new contacts were made, and hopefully there will be more collaboration and synergies in the near future.
So, to all of those who joined this year: Thank you! To all of those who didn’t make it: We hope to see you next year!
We’re now preparing for the Esr Norwegian User Conference in Oslo 3rd to 5th of February 2016! There will be a half-day petroleum track just after the inspiring plenary session on day 1. Read more and sign up here: http://geodata.no/kurs-og-events/brukerkonferanser/norsk-bk/ (in Norwegian).
