Ny rapport fra IEAGHG: Induced Seismicity and its Implications for CO2 Storage Risk.
CLIMIT: Studien er gjennomført av det australske CO2CRC. Den tar for seg hvilke erfaringer og kunnskap man har med seismisitet utløst av menneskelig aktivitet slik som petroleumsproduksjon, geotermi, deponering av avfallsvann og CO2-lagring. Rapporten viser at all aktivitet i undergrunnen utløser mikroseismisk aktivitet. I et mindre antall tilfeller har det blitt utløst merkbare jordskjelv. Rapporten understreker at det er svært vanskelig å generalisere mhp risiko for seismisitet. Lokale forhold er avgjørende og må vurderes i hvert enkelt tilfelle.
