DNB announced earlier this year that they were launching the DNB Healthcare Prize of 1 million NOK. Several companies applied, and went through many rounds of selection.
On December 15th, during the DNB Healthcare Conference (where Oslo Medtech organized the venture session) the finalists had their pitch.
The finalists were: Ulitmovacs, Spiro Medical, Labrida, Vaccibody, Glucoset and Picterus. All were worthy winners, but the winner, after both the jury and the audience votes were counted, was Picterus. The check of 1 million NOKs was presented by DNB CEO Rune Bjerke.
Picterus developes an app that helps diagnose jaundice in newborn children. A fantastic product that can save thousands of lives without much investment or risk. Picterus addresses a big problem in the third world, and the social corporate responsibility aspect was highly favoured.
Oslo Medtech would like to extend our big congratulations to PICTERUS - winner of the DNB Healthcare Prize 2015!
