Phoenix Contact and SecurityMatters to Showcase Innovative Cyber Security Solutions at NFEA Conference

Combining innovation and experience to strengthen industrial cyber resilience for the process industry.

Oslo, Norway – April 23rd, 2018- At the 2018 Cyber Security Conference in Oslo, organized by the Norwegian Society of Electric and Automatic Control (NFEA), SecurityMatters, a global leader in operational technology (OT) network protection, and Phoenix Contact, a leading worldwide provider of components, systems and solutions for automation and industrial networks, will showcase how to strengthen industrial cyber resilience by preventing undesired access and detecting operational problems and cyber threats. This year, the NFEA Conference will emphasize the state of critical infrastructure cyber security, with a focus on the oil and gas industry. SecurityMatters and Phoenix Contact will present live demos of the most powerful solution to mitigate industrial cyber threats: the integration of mGuard firewalls and SilentDefense.

Phoenix Contact’s mGuard firewalls restrict access to critical networks and systems only to authorized users and services. SecurityMatters’ passive network monitoring and situational awareness platform, SilentDefense, detects and reports operational problems and cyber security threats.

“mGuard firewalls protect critical networks and devices from unauthorized access, blocking all incoming communications from illegitimate devices and preventing internal systems from connecting to undesired external servers. SilentDefense complements this protection with full visibility into advanced intrusion attempts and other potential causes of process disruption,” said Jon Kåre Solås, Application Engineer at Phoenix Contact.

“The integration of mGuard and SilentDefense makes industrial networks more resilient against cyber security threats and enables users to quickly identify and react to network malfunctions and misconfigurations. In addition, the possibility of automated configuration of the firewalls from SilentDefense reduces operator workload while greatly improving the security posture of the organization,” said Luca Barba, Head of Product Marketing at SecurityMatters.

The Cyber Security Conference will be held in Oslo 25th -26th of April 2018.
