Oslo, 21st of March 2012: Over 200 participants confirm Kabel Norge Kongress’ standing as one of Norway’s most important venues for the broadband and digital television industries. – Our industry are in the midst of great change, and we are very pleased that so many people are joining us to discuss the processes our industry is experiencing, says Chairman of the Board Øyvind Husby.
Kabel Norge Kongress has been held every year for 30 years, but has never been more popular, according to Chairman of the Board Øyvind Husby. While other industry venues are struggling to fill their seats, Kabel Norge is setting a new record. Not only do we have more participants, we also have more foreign lecturers and more press officers than ever before.
– A lot is happening in our industry, in terms of both technology and content. Tablets and smart phones are highlighting the ”tv everywhere” trend, and broadband is a new distribution platform for television content. Network operators will be delivering products that converge with new areas. The industry is searching for good business models that ensure that this convergence is made up of the best of both our worlds – broadband and television distribution, says Husby.
Subjects such as traffic management, OTT (Over The Top), business models, better quality of content through CDN (Content Delivery Networks), regulatory issues and experience from other parts of Europe will be discussed at the conference to be held on the 21st and 22nd of March in Oslo.
