Bipper Communication honoured as a leading European TMT company
BARCELONA, Spain and Bergen, Norway – 28 September 2010 - Bipper, a provider of mobile safety solutions for families, was named as a yearling winner for the inaugural 2010 Bully Award honouring the leading European technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) companies as presented by White Bull Summits.
A total of 60 European companies were named as finalists for the 2010 Bully Award, and 30 were honoured as winners. The deserving winners were selected from a pool of entries that included hundreds of nominated European TMT companies.
The winners fall into three categories:
- Yearlings: firms that seek or have received angel/seed rounds or equivalent; classic start-ups
- Young Bulls: firms that seek or have received Series A financing; early stage companies
- Longhorns: post Series A firms; growth stage companies
"The Bully Award winners were selected for innovation and values of excellence in the TMT sector,” stated Farley Duvall, Founder and Chairman of White Bull Summits. “Each of the Bully Award winners have been recognized as a leader in their field, with a bright business proposition and meaningful market strategies, driven by a rich understanding of customer needs and technological solutions.”
“We’re thrilled and honoured to be named a Bully Award winner, and to be recognized as one of the leading TMT companies in Europe,” stated CEO and found Silje Vallestad of Bipper. “It’s validating to be named a winner for this prestigious award, and we accept and share it with the entire Bipper company and community.”
Bipper has developed a safety solution which makes mobile phones safer and adapted to the youngest mobile users (ages 6-14). Through a personal web portal parents can administer the child’s contacts, how much and when the mobile may be used, and identify in which area the mobile is located. Bipper also features a safety alarm for the child, which when activated, calls up five pre-selected contacts until one answers the phone. All five receive a text message with a link to the phone’s latest position, irrespective of the call being cut off after activation.
“We searched for the ‘wily beast’ we believe lives inside all successful businesses,” adds Duvall. “We very carefully reviewed seed, angel, early-stage and growth-stage companies, and selected 30 winners that we believe have demonstrated clear potential for further growth, including a high probability for exit in the next few years.”
