ASUS Zenfone 5 | 5Z has been updated to Android 9 Pie in Norway
Zenfone 5 & Zenfone 5Z has received Android 9 Pie. The new update also features much more than the new OS version, especially camera improvements. The worldwide FOTA roll-out reached all nordic Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Z devices before the end of January. Enjoy!

- Upgrade system to Android 9 Pie
- Added choice: Google gesture navigation bar
- Added support for: Android P Adaptive brightness
- Added choice: notification option “No visuals or sound from notifications”
- Added support: Adaptive battery function
- When using the Camera or Gallery apps the device will keep the users preferred level of brightness
- Battery Mode consolidation: Removed 2 battery modes, leaving 3 total in Pie. AI Boost remains as a toggle.
- Recent Apps: Now using the horizontal Android P overview style

- Support Camera2Api level ‘Full’
- Improved texture of the photo during bright light conditions
- Continued Exposure tuning
- Further improvements on shutter speed
- Improved the performance of Burst Mode Shooting
- Improved the focus quality in Video recording
- Improved Panorama quality
The camera is something we’ve continuously put effort into developing with several updates and improvements since the launch in June 2018. Over the year we’ve, above all improved photos in low light and detail (all conditions) along with the shutter speed.
