Danish metal band ESSENCE signs with Spinefarm Records
Essence is a Danish band with roots in thrash metal, formed in 2005. The band consists of four young guys, Lasse, Nikolaj, Mark and Rasmus. Their debut album, “Lost in Violence” (produced by Søren Andersen), was released in 2011 and their 2nd album, “Last Night of Solace” (produced by Peter Tägtgren), was released in 2013. They are regarded a highly energetic live band and have toured Europe several times as support for artists like Hypocrisy and Vader. The band has shared stage with acts like Entombed, In Flames and Megadeth, gracing the stages of Roskilde Festival, Copenhell and Metal Fest, and toured Denmark on several co- and headliner tours playing more than 130 shows. Their 2013 album got nominated for a Metal Hammer Award, won the Rock The Nation Award and honored the band with a Culture Award from the Danish government presented by the mayor of their home county.
The yet-untitled new album is currenty being produced and mixed by Grammy nominated producer Rune Rask (Tabu Records and popular band Suspekt). Previous Rask work includes productions for Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q, but this is the first rock/metal album he has ever produced.
