Green Ideas AS breakthrough in Turkey - with NOPEF grant

The Norwegian based company Green Ideas AS, also established in Istanbul, signed last week an agreement with Cayirova, the first municipality in Turkey-Istanbul, to start a project to sort waste in households. The company has now finished -and is ready to produce a specially designed binsystem for the Turkish household market, based on new national legislation. Green Ideas has for almost 3 years made strong alliances with Turkish partners giving the company an unique position to be “first movers” in this market-segment. CEO, Geir Langeland, emphasizes also the importance of NOPEF loan that was given 2014.

Geir Langeland says:” It is unique that a small Norwegian early phase-business has made this “first mover” position in Turkey - in this specific the waste management-segment, and is ready to go to market. And he continues - “NOPEF supported our feasibility study with 40% (28 000€) of the total cost in our Turkish business set-up and it was fully converted as grant in October last year after our final project-report (audited) was approved. This grant turned out to be very important for us and our goals.”-

Green Ideas AS has spent so far almost 500.000€ in Turkey, and the coming months more municipalities will sign agreement on projects enabling Green Ideas and their Istanbul based company, to deliver their bin-systems for households securing a substantial market-share in the coming years.

Geir Langeland concludes by saying that- “Green Ideas in Turkey has found strong partners, and is prepared to penetrate the market/urbanized and modern municipalities all over Turkey with our new designed waste-bin system for households. Strategically important we have also other waste-management products in the pipeline.“
