Headweb launches new app for LG, bringing thousands of movies directly to the TV.

 The long-awaited update of the popular Headweb app for LG Smart TV is here. Several requested improvements have been made and the content library has increased substantially. The Swedish film service Headweb offers thousands of titles that users can access directly from their LG Smart TV.

Previously, the offering was limited to library titles in the LG Smart TV app. Now the content collection is stretched to include new Hollywood productions and a broad selection of local movies, classics and documentaries – a total of nearly 7.000 titles. Besides, the interface of the app has been improved; users can now easily search and find their favourite films.

 Headweb currently offers over 7.000 titles on Headweb.com, a figure that is steadily increasing. The range is one of the reasons that the movie service for four consecutive years is appointed “Sweden's top movie- and entertainment service.

Availability:

The new app is available as a service of LG's Smart TV portal from now, and works with LG's Smart TV products from 2011 and 2012. Consumers who already own a LG Smart TV product will have access to the new app via a software update that is sent out automatically via the Internet.

Consumers who own or are buying a new LG TV, Blu-ray player or home theatre system with LG Smart TV functionality* will be able to take advantage of the Headweb app via LG's range of Premium apps. Users have direct access to the entire film library of Headweb via the user-friendly Smart TV interface, which is designed to work especially well with LG's Magic Remote Control **.

 * To use Headweb and other services in the LG Smart TV, your TV, home theater system or Blu-ray player needs to be connected to broadband Internet (recommended minimum speed of 5Mbit / s).

** LG's Magic Motion remote control is included for free in some TV sets and can be purchased as an option on other models.
