Headweb presents unique Roy-Andersson film

Gothenburg Film Festival and film service Headweb is the venue for the launch of a new feature film documentary on Roy Andersson. While the movie is launched at the film festival it also simultaneously premieres on Headweb, where it will be available via on demand exclusively for Headwebs Scandinavian users.

- The sheer event that we present this title online simultaneously as it is launched at the Göteborg Film Festival is a hint on what the film distribution will look like in the future.  I hope and believe that it becomes more common with this type of concurrent releases, as this increases the availability thus counteracts piracy. In order to seriously combat piracy, it is absolutely critical to force the VOD release closer to the movie theatre opening, in more channels, at the same time, says Peter Alvarssson, CEO and founder of Headweb.

Pehr Arte and Johan Carlsson began filming in June 2003. They followed Roy in a close and creative process for four years and have thus reached unique insights into the director's life and works. The movie is a documentary about Roy Andersson, it sheds light on Roy Andersson's political and philosophical stance, and why he chose to make films.
