Headweb expands and opens the world's first on demand video store on Facebook. Hot Tub Time Machine, a comedy starring John Cusack is the first movie to be available in the new service.
- This is a milestone for us and the film industry, we're now giving 11 million nordic Facebook users access to premium films where they are active on a daily basis, movies are now only a click away from the news feed, says Peter Alvarsson, CEO of Headweb.
With Headweb's Facebook app, users can watch trailers and rent movies. No installation is required, neither on the user's PC or Facebook account. Payment is easily made with a SMS or pre-paid Headweb account.
- Facebook users love movies and we believe that offering our titles through Facebook where users spend much time will attract new crowds to legal movie services like Headweb says Martin Brandtler, director of Swedish Film Industry (SF) who provides the premiere title.
Hot Tub Time Machine can be viewed by Nordic users from November 3rd at the price of 39 kr (€3.99) for a rental period of 24 hours. The movie can be watched in all browsers on any computer.
