PRESS REISER 2017

Israel Government Tourist Office for the Nordic– IGTO invites relevant journalists and media to participate in press trips to Israel. The press trips include custom-made itineraries and an excellent chance to get acquainted with the country as an attractive tourist destination.

The length of the press trips is between 4 -7 nights and have maximum 6 journalists per trip. If you wish IGTO will arrange flights, accommodation with half board, itinerary, tour guide and driver. The press trips will focus on culinary, design, cultural, biblical, historical, active tourism, biking, health & spa themes in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Dead Sea and Negev & Eilat.

  • Vibrant Tel Aviv during the festive holiday PURIM, 4-5 overnights, 6-12 Mars

Tel Aviv, “the city that never sleeps”, recently received impressive achievements by well-known magazines and websites. Lonely Planet ranked Tel Aviv third place among the world's best cities. Explore the hip Tel Aviv that everyone is talking about; restaurants, cafés, nightlife, cosy quarters, boutiques, and the 13 km long sandy beach. Tel Aviv is also known as the White City, an “Open Museum” of Bauhaus International style in architecture as recognized by U.N.E.S.C.O. for preservation purposes.   • CULINARY & WINE JERUSALEM & TEL AVIV: 5-7 nights, 8th – 14th May

Israel has more than 300 wine producers, ranging in size from small boutique enterprises to large companies producing over ten million bottles per year. In recent years many Israeli wines have been recognized as outstanding by well-known Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate. We will take you through the wine regions next to Jerusalem. Visiting goat-cheese making and herbal farms. All these will be accompanied by great Israeli food that we are sure will surprise you positively. Visit Tel Aviv Port including the Farmers Market. Have dinners and food experience! Tour Of Old Jaffa - ancient seaport related to the Biblical narrative of Jonah and the whale, with Fishermen’s port, St. Peter’s Church, artists’ quarter, renovated Old City. Continue to Jerusalem for the famous food scene and Mahane Yehuda Market.

  • TEL AVIV WEEKEND WITH DEAD SEA: 7th/8th – 11th June

Tel Aviv, “the city that never sleeps”, recently received impressive achievements by well-known magazines and websites. Lonely Planet ranked Tel Aviv third place among the world's best cities. Visit Dead Sea - the lowest place on earth (419 meter below sea level) and Masada - ruins of King Herod’s mountaintop fortress and last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against the Romans in 73 C.E (Ascend and descend by cable-car). Visit Jerusalem - the Capital of Israel and the holy city for the three monotheistic religions.

  • RED SEA RESORT EILAT staying at Top Hotels: 5-7 nights, 20-26 November

Experience what Eilat and its surroundings have to offer for families travelling.

Visit Eilat - Israel’s southernmost resort town on the Red Sea, swim with the dolphins at the Dolphin Reef and visit Timna Park - site of the ancient copper mines, today a geological park with hiking trails and rock formations, including Solomon’s Pillars.

  • EXPLORE NEGEV WITH SUN RESORT EILAT: 5-7 nights, 11th – 17th SEP

Stay in Tel Aviv the first night. Day after continue south through the amazing desert landscape. Visit Mitzpe Ramon, town just on the cliff of the huge crater. Here you will see that the desert is flourishing with wineries, cheese farms, small boutiques, cafes, desert bike/walk/jeep excursions to the Crater. Explore the ancient spice trial of the Nabataeans in the Negev desert and hike Ein Avdat National Park - oasis in Zin riverbed, desert canyon with springs and natural pool.
