Easier package retrieval for DHL agents with PreCom

DHL Freight enters agreement with PocketMobile and makes life easier for customers and agents

DHL Service Points are DHL’s drop-off/pickup points for packages, with 1300 locations throughout Sweden, located in food stores, kiosks and petrol stations. In order to make drop-off and pick-up of packages easier for service agents, DHL has chosen to work with PocketMobile and base a new solution on PocketMobile’s PreCom platform. In the future agents will also be able to access the complete solution via smart phones and tablets.

Development and integration take place this year and the solution will be available for use by agents early in 2015. When the implementation is complete, several thousand people will use PreCom daily at DHL Service Points.

”Besides reducing the complexity of our IT integrations, the new PocketMobile solution will create a more efficient package handling at our agents and, at the same time, satisfy the higher security requirements that e-commerce requires,” says Peter Johansson, Programs and IT Product Manager, IS Demand at DHL Freight.

”That DHL has chosen PocketMobile for its Service Point operations is a very good example of PreCom’s strengths in mobile and distributed business solutions, and not least logistics solutions,” says Anders Tormod, CEO of PocketMobile.
