Zenitel confirms leadership in ropeway market

The new cableway in the town of Verona (Italy) was innaugurated this week, and Zenitel was the partner chosen to provide the critical communications solutions. In choosing Zenitel, the Italian worldwide ropeway and cableway leader Leitner and Italian partner ITEL, have confirmed their trust in the company.

Connecting the Medieval with the modern

In Verona, famed as the town of Romeo and Juliet, Leitner’s cableway is a remarkable work combining tradition and modernity, while meeting the infrastructural needs of today's tourist attractions. The new, sloped lift connects the city to Castel San Pietro.

With its fortress and splendid panorama, the historic hill is a very popular tourist destination, and the new transportation system will contribute to its renewed appeal. Emergency calls will be handled by a Vingtor-Stentofon IP intercom system. Onboard the trolley and at each of the three stops, our IP Vandal Resistant Substations will provide communications between passengers and the control room, which is outfitted with a IP Desktop Master Station. The communication from/to the trolley is made via Wi-Fi technology.
