Voddler starts showing TV-series – Purchase your favorite Hollywood-shows for unlimited online viewing

Voddler, Scandinavia’s leading video-on-demand (VOD) service, today starts selling TV-shows for unlimited online viewing. This is the first time Voddler offers current Hollywood-series– and it also marks Voddler’s launch of purchase-VOD. Purchased titles on Voddler also do not have to be downloaded, but are instead always available for online viewing on Voddler, in a solution Voddler calls “cloud-based purchases”.

- We continue to build our movie catalog with both the latest releases and best catalog titles, but we will now also start expanding our TV-show selection. We are very happy offer our customers the option to buy their favorite shows, like Big Bang Theory, Gossip Girl or Two and a Half Men, directly on Voddler, says Anna Eliasson, Head of Content Acquisition on Voddler.

Voddler is now publishing its first selection of shows (see fact box below) and out on Voddler already are the early seasons of Gossip Girl and Big Bang Theory. Voddler’s current license agreements cover all seasons of the selected shows up to and including the latest DVD-released seasons.

Voddler starts with purchase-VOD
With this launch, Voddler also enters the purchase-VOD segment. However, unlike other purchase-VOD services, Voddler does not require that you download the titles. Instead your purchases are always available on Voddler for unlimited viewing.

- We call it ”cloud-based purchases”. It enables the viewer to see the bought film when and where they want, on any Voddler-enabled device, without having to remember which hard drive it was stored on or which particular device it was used on. All you need is your Voddler-login, says Anders Sjöman, VP Communications at Voddler.

Over the coming weeks, these are some of the shows that will start appearing on Voddler: Gossip Girl, Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Chuck, Fringe, Nip Tuck, One Tree Hill, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, V, Terminator: Salvation, Watchmen and many others.
