2011 Hot Air Balloon in Clark, wine tasting on 12th Feb, enjoy balloon glow with wine

Clark Wine Center, Philippines’ largest wine shop is located in Clark Freeport, at a location that is very near the place where the balloons are parked.  This is considered the best vantage point to watch the hot air balloon take off and return to earth. 

 

A wine tasting session is held in the afternoon at 5pm on Saturday 12th February 2011 to let wine lovers enjoy the afternoon hot air balloon activities scheduled to start at 5:30pm, while enjoying some fine vintage wine in an organized tasting.  Clark Wine Center hold regular wine tasting sessions that attract the local wine enthusiasts because it is strictly non-promotional, no wine salesmen to pressure the guests, just a very congenial atmosphere to taste wine and meet new friends with similar interest.

 

This public wine tasting of Yats Wine Cellars will feature fine vintage wines from

France, Italy, California, Spain and South Africa.  Wine lovers traveling to the north from Manila to attend the Hot Air Balloon festival in Angeles City Clark, Pampanga can relax and enjoy these fine classic vintage wines while waiting for the balloon activities to start next door.

 

Ticket price is p1,000 which includes food also.  Wine tasting starts at 4:45 pm and ends at 9:30pm.  It will be held at the roof deck lawn garden of the Clark Wine Center which is located on M A Roxas Highway, adjacent to the site where the hot air balloons will be parked.

 

The Hot Air Balloon Night Glow is at 5:30-6:45pm on Saturday 12th February.  Participants of the Yats wine tasting can start to enjoy the wine tasting before the start of the balloon activities.

 

Here is the line-up of the wines that will be served for the tasting, each representing one of the countries within the theme of this event.

Italy:  1999 Dolcetto D'Alba, Rossana Ceretto

 

California:  2007 Parducci Pinot Noir Mendocino County

 

Spain:  1996 Ribera del Duero, Crianza, Bodegas Felix Callejo

 

 

South Africa: 1979 Paarl Laborie Estate Wine, Superior

 

Public wine tastings are held from time to time in Clark and sometimes in Manila.  These themed events are professionally run –no wine merchants sponsorship, pushy salesmen or tacky banners to ruin the evening.  Each ticket contains a certain number of stubs that can be redeemed for a tasting pour of a wine among those on a line-up which often contains wines that are quite old and expensive.
