Hans Hassle, medgrundare och generalsekreterare för Plantagon International, tilldelas det prestigefyllda priset Khalifa International Award for Agricultural Innovation, under den Sixth International Date Palm Conference (SIDPC), som hölls 19-21 mars 2018 i Abu Dhabi, FAE, under beskydd av HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president i Förenade Arabemiraten.

Plantagon® CityFarm är ett nytt koncept för att använda tomma lokaler till effektiv och hållbar matproduktion i städer. Den första anläggningen ligger under DN-skrapan på Kungsholmen i Stockholm, och målet är att till 2020 ha tio produktionsanläggningar igång i Stockholmsområdet. Nu bjuds allmänheten in till en crowdfunding-kampanj på investerarplattformen Fundedbyme för att stödja expansionen.

Plantagon launches its first City Farm out of ten until 2020 in the Swedish capital Stockholm. Plantagon invites the crowd to be part of a movement #feedingthecity. Under the famous building "DN-Skrapan" up to 70 metric tonnes of high quality food will be produced yearly – from a place previously being used as a storage room.

Ulf Ranhagen, Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology and Chief Architect at Sweco. Member of the Swedish Delegation for Sustainable Cities and Board Member of Mistra Urban Futures. A qualified regional and urban planner with broad experience of strategic urban planning, from the regional level to the detailed level, in Sweden and abroad.

BIO of Dr. Dickson Despommier - speaker at the Urban Agriculture Summit 2013

Dickson Despommier is a microbiologist, an ecologist, and emeritus professor of Public and Environmental Health at the Columbia University. For 27 years he conducted research on cellular and molecular parasitism and held lectures and courses on Parasitic Disease, Medical Ecology and Ecology. In 1999, he founded the root for the idea of raising crops in tall buildings; so called vertical farming.
