M&E Project Manager required

Our client are a leading design, installation, commissioning and maintenance service group which maintains and renews the places we work, live and play. The operate across a range of industries including hotels, offices, retail, education, industrial & residential.

They are looking for a field-based Project Management Engineer (PME) to join the Projects team supporting their projects in and around London. You will report in to a Director and given the fast paced nature of the business and the workload you must be able to hit the ground running.

This role is absolutely fundamental in ensuring all new projects and contract commitments run smoothly. The PME ensures that new projects and current contracts are developed, planned and carried out efficiently ensuring full customer satisfaction throughout.

The PME is the leader and is responsible for the day to day running of contracts. This includes; booking in works, organising engineers, dealing with clients, liaising with the works director and reacting to general daily client and project issues.

They require an individual who is committed to the business, the projects in hand and has a flexible attitude to work as out of hours work may be required at times.

Whilst not a direct line manager you are responsible for a large number of engineers and sub-contractors and will be expected to lead by example.

You will be responsible for managing the projects for high end clients in and around London including a number of 5* hotels. The value of these projects range from £10k to £2m and consist of all mechanical aspects; Air-Conditioning, Ventilation, Plumbing and Electrical.

In the past you may have worked as a Senior Foreman and are looking for the next step up, you will be competent at reviewing detailed design drawings and specifications. As this is a field-based role it is essential that you have experience of managing high value projects across a number of sites, any experience of the project design and quoting process would be advantageous to your application.

It is fundamental that you are able to ensure consistent on-site compliance with all aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and are able to demonstrate prior experience of this. You will be required to produce RAMS and ensure that the working team has read and signed them.

You will also be required to generate relevant reports for Project & Management meetings and work within the required legislation ad develop paper-work for project closures and O+Ms.

Selection Criteria (Essential or Desirable)

  • 2 years project management experience in Mechanical and Engineering (E)
  • Experience of Prince 2 or a HND, Diploma, or Degree in project management (or equivalent experience) (E)
  • Experience of ensuring H&S Compliance (E)
  • Flexible (occasional out of hours work may be required) (E)
  • Right to Live and Work in the UK
