Mentice to demonstrate multi-disciplinary endovascular simulation training tool at SESAM event in Paris

Press Release   •   Jun 07, 2017 13:38 GMT

Mentice, the leading developer of endovascular simulation training solutions, is to co-host a special Swedish pavilion at the SESAM (Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine) Annual General Meeting to be held in Paris June 14-16.

“We’re delighted to be appearing at SESAM,” says Kjell Asserlind, VP of Global Hospital Markets at Mentice. “Simulation centers, physicians and hospitals from around the world can see for themselves how our high-fidelity training solutions help practitioners achieve and maintain proficiencies across a range of endovascular disciplines. Also, we’re proud to be showcasing Sweden—the country is a hotbed of medtech innovation, I’m sure visitors to the pavilion will be more than impressed.”

A highlight of the Mentice presentation is the ‘SimMan Vascular’—a collaborative solution bringing together Mentice VIST® technology with Laerdal to create the world’s first immersive, hands-on AMI patient simulator. This enables simulation centres to include full emergency, multi-disciplinary team training, including endovascular procedures for trauma, AMI/STEMI and REBOA. Put simply, the new solution provides hands-on learning, enabling centres to use the Laerdal SimMan Vascular in several different clinical pathways.

“In addition to the SimMan Vascular, visitors to our booth can gain a realistic experience of the wide variety of training software we offer, through our Mentice VIST G5 —covering over twenty procedures across 6 disciplines. Mentice training materials are all about safe, high-fidelity and multidisciplinary team training.”

Mentice is co-hosting the Swedish pavilion at SESAM together with Sectra, Surgical Science and Swemac. The pavilion will be located at booth EX16 – EX19. The event is being held at the Centre Universitaire des Saints-Pères.
