Merit contributed to the successful implementation on May 15th 2016, of AMOS the new maintenance management information system at SAS, Scandinavian Airlines Systems.
The simultaneous implementation of AMOS for the full fleet in three countries was a challenging task. Especially since AMOS replaced a complex network of two larger maintenance systems and several other supporting systems.

Merit and SAS has been working closely together during this 3 years project where Merit has been focusing on manning the IT-subproject, administrating AMOS environments and establishing all integrations to other SAS systems. Merit also provided expert consulting to support key users in areas like contracts, finance, planning, production and tools management, delivery of advanced reports and business intelligence solutions and initial support to project management and business change management preparations.
Merit has during the implementation project of AMOS, been responsible for the complete data migration from all SAS legacy systems. The large number of legacy systems with parts that had overlapping information made the migration to a challenging and critical path of the implementation project. Merits team and migration tools managed to turn this challenge into a great success. According to the feedback from the business and Swiss-AS this was most likely the best AMOS data migration made.
Merit has in addition been awarded a 2-year contract for the continued application management and support of SAS AMOS solution. This service is a combination of the strengths in Merit Operation services together with the industry and application expertise of Merit’s Aviation team.
