Press release -

Free app download!

The app 10-Minute Baby à la Carte is free for download until March 26!

This is  a great opportunity for journalists, bloggers, reviewers, and others who have an interest in food, health and children, to have a peek at the app.

10-Minute Baby à la Carte facilitates buying and preparing food for children up to 12 months old. It features healthy and simple recipes based on the Scandinavian cuisine, practical advice, facts and inspiration. The app has been developed in cooperation with a certified dietitian and adheres to the recommendations of the Swedish National Food Agency.

Ewa Borin, who is the driving force behind 10-Minute Baby à la Carte, got the idea for the app when she was on maternity leave with her son. She wanted an effortless app about food for the very youngest - an app that could help parents out. So she took the matter in her own hands:

- I wanted to show how easy it is to prepare the food yourself, in contrast to just buying baby food jars. In addition, you get 100 per cent control over the ingredients and you won't have to worry about less healthy additives. The app also features facts about food and nutritional values and all recipes can be prepared in ten minutes.

I want to encourage parents to share the dining experience with their children and to stimulate their senses. Let them smell the fragrance of fresh herbs. What does salmon with coriander and ginger taste like? How does it feel to hold a piece of broccoli in your little hand?

Make mealtimes into feel-good moments. Light a candle at every meal to create a pleasant and cozy atmosphere. Make sure that mealtimes are nice and relaxing. Eat with your baby – YOU are your child’s best role model.

- I think it’s wonderful to have my Little Munchkin at the table – regardless of whether it’s just the two of us eating or the whole family together; whether we’re eating out at a restaurant or eating with guests. I can tell he enjoys it and he likes to remain a while at the table.

He sees how the rest of us eat using a knife and fork and a glass, and how we talk to each other. Children learn a lot by imitating. It’s a good idea during a meal to turn the attention to the baby sometimes as well and include him/her in the conversation (even if the baby can’t really talk yet!). It’s easy to only focus on your guests and then the mealtime is not a pleasant experience for your baby. Try to achieve a balance.

10-Minute Baby à la Carte is now entering exciting collaborations with talented chefs who will share their food philosophy, practical advice and recipes in the app. Initially, 10-Minute Baby à la Carte is working in cooperation with Gröna Kassen (the Green Bag), a vegetarian bag of groceries with a big emphasis on organic foods, the environment and good health. Now all parents who want to give their babies home-made meals can find a new vegetarian section in the app.

We want our users to be able to cherry-pick and choose freely among the different types of recipes and themes.

Bon appétit!
