Tweet Earth pinpoints a Tweeter’s whereabouts via geo-tagging data, or based on declared location. It then displays the tweet in a speech bubble on an HD graphic of the Earth. For example, a tweet emanating from New York City will be superimposed at the correct longitude and latitude, as will a Tweet from London, Tokyo, and so on. And what about tweets without a geo-tag or a declared location -- which is about 33% of them? Cleverly, they’re sent to the app’s HD graphic of the moon.  

In addition, with meticulous attention to detail, Tweet Earth actually places the sun in proximity to a tweet based on when it was sent. For example, a tweet with the sun just to the right of it will tell users at-a-glance that it was tweeted at dawn.
