Axel Johnson becomes main partner to The Global Village and Järvaveckan

Axel Johnson becomes main partner to The Global Village, the non-profit association behind Järvaveckan – a meeting place for politicians, citizens, trade and industry to talk about integration, diversity, social sustainability and gender equality. In total, Axel Johnson donates up to SEK 4.5 million over a period of three years to The Global Village or a foundation formed by The Global Village.

Järvaveckan is organized for the third consecutive year with the aim of reducing the distance between the elected politicians and citizens. By reducing the distance between people and electorate, better conditions are created for all citizens to engage in social issues and put their priorities on the political agenda.

"Inclusion and integration is one of the most important issues for Sweden in the coming years, and companies have a responsibility in this matter. The Global Village is a foresighted organization that has the potential to influence, starting in the Järva area, but eventually in several parts of Sweden. As a partner to The Global Village or a foundation formed by The Global Village, we want to support them in their work on inclusion, integration, diversity, social sustainability and gender equality, and we believe and hope that Järvaveckan will be Sweden's most important meeting place for questions concerning diversity and inclusion, " said Caroline Berg, Chairman Axel Johnson.

"Axel Johnson is a precursor in working with sustainable development from a social perspective, showing courage and willingness to change by running a number of projects to contribute to integration. We are incredibly happy and grateful for Axel Johnson's long-term partnership, " said Ahmed Abdirahman, founder of The Global Village and initiator of Järvaveckan.

Axel Johnson will be at Järvaveckan between 9-17 June 2018 at Spånga IP.
