Axiell acquires ATP Automation LTD Oy

Helsinki, Finland October 13 2017 - Axiell, the leading vendor to libraries in Europe, today announces that the company has acquired ATP Automation Ltd Oy, a company specialized in library logistics. Through the acquisition, Axiell will broaden its offering in the Finnish market to cover market leading self-service machines and conveyor solutions for libraries, in addition to the already existing offer which the company is working with. ATP represents top Finnish know-how, guaranteed by a membership in the Association of Finnish Work. The four staff at ATP will join Axiell and will continue to serve existing customers.

“We are glad that ATP will join the Axiell family. It is very important for us to be a complete provider to libraries in Finland and to support all the aspects of their services. With ATP, we will now be able to broaden our product offering, for example with their smart shelf solution and add industry-leading knowhow,” says Mr Joel Sommerfeldt, President & CEO of Axiell Group.

ATP has been active in Finland for 10 years and has 70 implementations at Finnish libraries and 15 industry customers. The largest customers are Turku City Library, the four largest libraries in Helsinki, Tampere City Library, and the brand new Iso Omena library in Espoo. In addition to library self-service, the company has developed conveyor and RFID solutions also for customers outside the library market.

“We have been cooperating with Axiell for 10 years and it was a natural next step to join them. During the acquisition process, we have established that we share values, such as the importance of excellent customer service, so we feel very positive towards joining Axiell”, says Mrs Reeta Muttonen, Director of Automation Business from ATP Automation Ltd.

Additional details around the acquisition are not disclosed.
