Astralis wins BLAST Pro Series São Paulo: Next up, Miami, Madrid and LA

Astralis and Liquid continued their rivalry in the final of BLAST Pro Series São Paulo. In the end Astralis won their third BLAST trophy.

Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, Astralis:

- Winning is not easy. It's hard work, but I'm really happy that we won in São Paulo. It's a great crowd, a great city and we love you, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth told the crowd in the arena.

The grand finale of BLAST Pro Series São Paulo saw the two titans, favorites and rivals, Astralis and Team Liquid face-off on the server, battling for the BLAST trophy, and a majority share of the 125,000 dollars out of the total prizepool of 250,000 dollars. In the end, Astralis were victorious in the epic showdown that took place in front of 7,000 wild and passionate fans in the Ibirapuera Arena.

Emil "Magisk" Reif, Astralis:

- It's really hard to stay on top. We always try to improve because we want to keep winning. One day it can go the wrong way and we have to be prepared for it.

The crowd delivered a wholesome, highly energetic atmosphere in the way that only Brazilians can.

Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz won 7 MVP awards in 2018 and now he has his first of 2019 as he was named the MVP of BLAST Pro Series São Paulo.

Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, Astralis:

- I'm very happy about winning in front of this crowd. They were not always cheering for us but they were passionate and that was great to see, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz says and comments on his own consistent star performance:

- I try to be the best teammate. My individual performance is improved a lot by my team setting me up for big plays. Routines are key. Eat well, sleep well, go to the gym and of course practice a lot of Counter-Strike.

Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz is the MVP of BLAST Pro Series São Paulo.

In the end, Team Liquid fell short against Astralis, who took home their third BLAST Pro Series trophy and became the first team to win back-to-back BLAST tournaments. Astralis will get the chance to build on their record again on April 12-13 when BLAST Pro Series Miami takes place and then again at BLAST Pro Series Madrid on May 10-11.

During BLAST Pro Series São Paulo, a second US event was confirmed as BLAST Pro Series takes on Los Angeles on July 12-13. BLAST will bring the riveting show to the world's entertainment capital in the same fashion as in the other BLAST host countries who's showed nothing but enthusiasm for the groundbreaking esports entertainment format.

Miami is the next stop on the BLAST Circuit and the first time the tournament will be held in the USA. Six of the world’s elite Counter-Strike teams will battle it out live on stage in the Watsco Center for 250,000 dollars and the prestigious title of BLAST Pro Series champions.

Team Liquid will be the home favorites at BLAST Pro Series Miami and a chance to see a rematch of the epic rivalry versus Astralis is very likely with the current form of the two teams.
