New Head of Corporate Development and M&A for Bonnier AB

Fredrik Linton will join Bonnier AB’s executive management team as head of Corporate Development and M&A as of Dec. 1. Most recently, he has been at Swedish investment bank Carnegie, and previously worked as head of strategy and M&A for Swedish telecom firm Tele2, where he was also part of senior management.

As head of Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) for Bonnier AB, Fredrik Linton’s role will be managing business that is related to acquisitions and divestments, and in addition he will be responsible for the ongoing analysis of Bonnier’s existing holdings.

Linton has a wide background within business strategy, investments and acquisitions. During his time at Tele2 from 2005-2013, he served as head of M&A and from 2010, also as head of strategy.

Prior to that, he was investment manager at venture capital firm Ledstiernan, with responsibility for investments, including for a number of media companies. Earlier in his career, he served as an industrial advisor for the European Commission, and has worked as well within corporate finance at the Swedish Enskilda and Handelsbanken banks.

“With his background in analysis, finance and business development, Fredrik Linton comes with a broad range of M&A experience,” says Tomas Franzén, CEO for Bonnier AB. “In our current circumstances where we need to be active in assessing our holdings, he can provide a strategic look at the companies that are already part of Bonnier today as well as the relevant companies and markets outside.”

“I can’t imagine a more interesting assignment,” says Linton. “I look forward to being part of a fantastic company with interesting products and leading media brands. At the same time, Bonnier is facing a market undergoing a dramatic transformation, which makes the challenge both bigger and more attractive.”
