Candeco turns 25!

Today, the 31st of March, Candeco celebrates 25 years as a registered company!

It all started in Malmö back in 1992 when three colleagues from Fazer decided to start their own company. Soon they had recruited additionally three colleagues and with loads of knowledge and experience from the confectionery industry, business soon took off and in one year the turnover had tripled. The main products were sprinkles in different shapes, colours and flavours but Candeco also developed flavoured liquid products (intended to mix with vodka) called Candy Shots during the first years. These became extremely popular and gave the company a financial boost as well as a boost in confidence. In 1994 there were as much as 18 people employed. The focus has from the very start been to develop tailor-made products that bring value to the customer’s product - a strategy that has proven successful and is still the core and heart of Candeco. In 2005 Candeco became part of Idun Industri AS and of Orkla Food Ingredients. In 2013 the construction of a new factory was completed, the first one to be built in OFI for many years, and a new milestone was reached. Today the company employs around 45 people in total and has a turnover of approximately 85 million SEK.

The ambition has from the very start been set high for Candeco and we are all looking forward to the next 25 years and what we can achieve together with our colleagues and customers!
