Cavidi launches awareness campaign in AIDS journal

May 27, 2008 07:36 CEST

The latest issues of the medical journal AIDS feature the first in a series of advertisements from Cavidi. The advertisements are intended to increase awareness of the need for viral load testing in resource-limited settings. Today many healthcare providers equate HIV viral load testing with traditional tests based on RNA platforms. Historically these platforms have been challenged with subtype, infrastructure and cost issues in resource-limited settings. This has led many to simply give up on viral load testing in these regions all together. The ads make the case for the ExaVir™ Load test, since it is based on the RT platform, which is more suitable for conditions encountered in resource-limited settings.
