EIT ICT Labs wordt EIT Digital met een nieuwe directeur in Nederland!
Open innovatie organisatie EIT ICT Labs heet voortaan EIT Digital. Volgens CEO Willem Jonker is de nieuwe naamgeving meer in lijn met de identiteit, strategie en missie. Ook is EIT Digital gemakkelijker uit te spreken en helpt het bij het vergroten van de naamsbekendheid.
EIT Digital brengt ICT innovaties versneld op de markt
EIT Digital investeert in strategische domeinen om innovatieve technologie met een sterke wetenschappelijke fundering op de markt uit te rollen en om ondernemend talent en leiderschap in Europa te stimuleren. De innovatie en educatie activiteiten zijn georganiseerd in en rond co-locaties waar studenten, researchers, engineers, business developers en ondernemers samenwerken. Sinds 2010 heeft EIT Digital consistent talenten, ideeën, technologie, investeringen en business gemobiliseerd in Europa om baanbrekende digitale innovatie te stimuleren. Het hoofdkantoor staat in Brussel en er zijn co-locaties in Berlijn, Eindhoven, Londen, Helsinki, Parijs, Stockholm, Trento, Boedapest, Madrid en sinds kort is er een hub in Silicon Valley.
De Nederlandse co-locatie van EIT Digital is gevestigd op de High Tech Campus Eindhoven, dat zich ten doel heeft gesteld ‘to turn innovation into business’. Een vruchtbare bodem dus voor EIT Digital Eindhoven om de eigen missie uit te voeren.
EIT Digital in Nederland verwelkomt een nieuwe Directeur
Samen met de implementatie van de naams- en huisstijl verandering, mocht EIT Digital in Nederland een nieuwe directeur verwelkomen: Patrick Essers. In die hoedanigheid neemt hij het stokje over van Patrick Strating die een carriere overstap maakte naar het hightech bedrijf Mecon. De selectie van de nieuwe directeur vond plaats na een internationale selectie procedure. Voordat Patrick Essers bij EIT Digital begon, werkte hij als Kwartiermaker Directeur bij de Dutch Institute World Class Maintenance (DI-WCM). Hier was hij eindverantwoordelijke dat DI-WCM kon doorgroeien van een subsidiegedreven naar een self-supporting organisatie. Momenteel onderzoekt EIT Digital hoe de organisatie kan uitgroeien tot een grotendeels zichzelf financierende organisatie: Patrick Essers zal hierin het voortouw nemen in Nederland.
