ELEPHANTS SET TO TAKE OVER SÃO PAULO
This August, Elephant Parade, the world’s largest public art exposition in aid of elephant conservation, is coming to São Paulo for the first time.
Gripped by the prospect of Elephant Parade bringing a festival of colour to one of the most exciting and culturally rich cities of the world, already more than 400 artists around the world have submitted designs in a bid to secure a place in one of the most widely anticipated Elephant Parade events in it’s 10 year history.
Elephant Parade São Paulo launches this August, when more than eighty of full-size elephant sculptures decorated by local artists will take over the city during the exhibition. The exhibition will give a platform for breakthrough local artists whose art pieces will stand together with the creations of top international stars and artists – who will be joining together to raise awareness on the plight of the elephant and the conservation issues that need to be tackled to give it a future.
Having trail-blazed through world cultural and business centers in recent years - visiting London, California, Milan, Singapore and Hong Kong ndSao Paolo has been chosen as one of the iconic destinations to help Elephant Parade celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2017. In a city with 11 million inhabitants, it is expected to impact about 6 million people. The designs for the artists that will join the Sao Paolo event will be announced on March 24th, 2017 on the website (www.elephantparade.com.br) and on the official page of the event on Facebook (www.facebook.com/elephantparadebrasil).
