Keravan Energia Oy chooses Empower as partner for installing new district heating meters

Keravan Energia Oy has chosen Empower to replace some 700 old meters with new, remotely readable meters. These new meters will enable quicker, more accurate and more efficient real-time monitoring of end-customer's heat energy use. This will also allow consumers to better monitor their own consumption. Empower will manage, plan and carry out the installation of the remotely readable meters and test their operation.

Empower IM Oy, part of the Empower Group, has already been a long-term partner of Keravan Energia in providing metering services for the company's existing electricity and district heating meters. Empower IM will also provide metering services for the new meters.

"After this project has been implemented, all of our district heating meters will be remotely readable. The new meters allow us to monitor hourly data and use monthly invoicing based on actual consumption. Additionally, the monitoring service will improve the management and use of the district heating network", says Heikki Hapuli, Production Director of Keravan Energia.

The works will begin in early October and the new meters will be operational by January 2016.
