Stora Enso Packaging selects Empower as maintenance partner for its Lahti and Heinola corrugated board mills

Empower IN Oy and Stora Enso Packaging Oy have signed a long-term service agreement on maintenance at Lahti and Heinola corrugated board mills. This service agreement extends the partnership started in autumn 2013. 

– We are very satisfied with the trust Stora Enso Packaging has shown towards us and the expansion of our cooperation. This long-term agreement allows us to mutually develop our operations, says Eero Paunonen, President of Empower IN Oy.

– Empower's expertise in maintenance allows us to allocate our personnel resources to our key operations and customers. This agreement strengthens our existing cooperation and enables us to continuously improve the usability of our key machines, says Juha Alhonoja, Operations Director and Country Manager at Stora Enso Packaging Oy.

Stora Enso Packaging has also decided to centralise its production and to transfer production operations from Heinola to Lahti. Converting machines will be relocated from Heinola to Lahti during 2017 and early 2018. Empower will also act as a partner in this transfer project. The scope of the project will be specified later.

Currently, 37 Empower employees are working at the Heinola and Lahti plants.
