Double awards for Fjällräven’s unique style of outdoor engineering

Every year, the world’s largest winter sports trade show ISPO in Munich honours outstanding sports and outdoor gear with ISPO Awards, decided by a jury of independent business professionals. ISPO Awards were created to encourage new innovations, and are presented to the most pioneering products on the European market. At the 2015 ISPO show, Fjällräven will be walking away with not one but two prestigious awards - both for products that strongly symbolize the brand’s essence as well as its future.

A gold award has been won by Fjällräven Expedition Down Parka No. 1, a hardwearing super-insulated winter parka designed for professionals who spend long days in Arctic conditions. It is a continuation of Fjällräven’s uncompromised Numbers series, developed with extreme attention to detail and craftsmanship. The parka is optimized to match the serious demands on reliability of the Arctic winter while also keeping the highest standards when it comes to longevity and sustainability. For insulation, Fjällräven uses its premium down that is ethically produced with 100% traceability, all the way back to the original goose farm. For the outer fabrics, Fjällräven has selected recycled polyester and organic cotton in its own, well-proven functional fabrics G-1000 Eco and G-1000 HeavyDuty Eco.

A second award will be presented to the Fjällräven Keb Eco-Shell Anorak, a newcomer in the highly successful Keb Series, with Fjällräven’s pioneering, recyclable and climate-compensated 3-layer material Eco-Shell with 100% fluorocarbon-free impregnation. With this technology, Fjällräven has been able to prove not only that a sustainable waterproof hardshell solution was within reach, but also that Fjällräven belongs at the frontier of outdoor research and engineering.

The awards ceremony will be held at ISPO Munich on February 5th.
