Press release -

Keb Eco-shell - Premier for a new generation of sustainable shell garments from Fjällräven

Just in time for autumn 2015, Fjällräven is launching a new generation of waterproof shell garments as part of their prize-winning Keb family of products. The Keb Eco-Shell series is not just designed to protect against harsh weather and provide first-class breathability, but also to have the lowest possible impact on the environment. This new collection includes jackets, trousers and an anorak for demanding treks, all year round.

The first generation of Eco-Shell garments came in 2011. Soon thereafter, Fjällräven started working on extending the technically advanced Keb series with waterproof shell garments. This autumn, Keb Eco-Shell will be arriving in stores. Already when the collection was first shown at the winter sporting goods trade fair ISPO in February, one of the garments, Keb Eco-Shell Anorak, was given a prestigious ISPO Award. The basis of the new series is Eco-Shell, a newly-developed three-layer fabric that keeps out wind and rain while still having excellent breathability so it can ventilate out body moisture. The material is made to stretch and is 100% polyester – both virgin and recycled – so it is easy to recycle in the future. In addition, the garments are climate compensated and impregnated entirely without the use of fluorocarbons. Keb Eco-Shell series consists of a jacket, an anorak and a pair of trousers, all in both men’s and women’s models. In addition, there is a longer, lightly padded parka and a pair of bib trousers. Their designs are simple with only a few carefully selected features, all to give lightweight yet durable garments with excellent functionality in challenging terrain. All cuts are optimised for a perfect fit – they are snug fitting but still have room for an insulating layer underneath.
Keb-Eco Shell is available in stores from September 2015.
