Sarah McPhee appointed as Chairwoman of the Board of AP4

The Swedish Government appointed Sarah McPhee as Chairwoman of the Board of the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4).

-I am very delighted and honored to receive the appointment as Chairwoman of the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund. AP4 has had very good returns over many years and works strategically with investments to meet global challenges such as climate change. In my opinion this is a prerequisite for sustained value creation in the management of assets, says Sarah McPhee.

Sarah McPhee has extensive experience in the financial sector and she has held several senior positions within the asset management industry. Earlier in her career she also worked as Head of Business Risk and Control at AP4. Most recently Sarah McPhee served as CEO of SPP, and prior to this she was Deputy CEO and Head of Investments at AMF.

The Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4) is one of five buffer funds in the Swedish pension system. AP4's mission is to manage Fund capital to maximize shareholder value over time, thus contributing to the stability of the pension system. AP4's sustainability focus areas are Climate Change and Corporate Governance. As of December 31, 2015 Fund capital amounted to SEK 310 billion.
