Flextronics Partnering with NUSRI (China) to Establish Hardware Incubator Hub for Startups

 

Suzhou, October 27, 2014 – Flextronics announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with The National University of Singapore (Suzhou) Research Institute (NUSRI) to establish a hardware incubator program for startups in China called ‘Flextronics-NUSRI Lab IX Hub. 

Flextronics’ Lab IX™ is creating the world’s largest hardware ecosystem by bringing together startups, OEMs, and technology partners. As a Lab IX portfolio company, startups will gain access to Flextronics’ global end-to-end supply chain expertise, as well as its depth and breadth of industry experience. “The partnership with NUSRI further cements our commitment to help startups globally take their products to the next level in an unprecedented scale. They stand to benefit from our services such as research & lab, prototyping, testing, industrialization and commercialization-related services, among others,” said Mr. Lior Susan, Head of Flextronics’ Lab IX and Vice President of Ventures.

As a leader in supply chain innovation, Flextronics chose to partner with NUSRI in China at it has an established research, education, and incubation arm that works with startups in its 20,000 square meter facility equipped with test labs, research centers and work space. Both organizations will jointly reach out to startups via programs such as workshops and business plan competitions to identify, nurture and partner with high-potential disruptive technology companies.
