Agneta Sundström awarded environmental prize of the year

Agneta Sundström has been awarded the Environmental Prize for 2017. Agneta is a reader in business administration at the University of Gävle and won the prize for her work with sustainable economic development. The vice-chancellor will present her with the prize at the Academic ceremony of the University of Gävle on 20 April.

Why she is awarded the prize

The selection is motivated in the following words:

“Agneta Sundström has been one of the leaders in establishing the successful project Sustainable Business Relations (Hållbara affärsrelationer). Her own research targets Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which involves social, economic and ecological perspectives on sustainability.

In 2017, she initiated and ran a seminar series on economic perspectives on sustainability. Through transdisciplinary presentations and discussions, the seminar series has inspired important conversation on economic sustainability from an interdisciplinary perspective.”

“I have strived to permeate all educational programmes that we offer with integrated perspectives on sustainability, and I welcome this award as it draws attention to this effort,” Agneta Sundström says.

“I am very pleased and proud for having won this prize. It means very much to me and I would especially like to extend my thanks to everyone who has supported me in my work,” Agneta Sundström concludes.
