The University Gävle and Gävle municipality expand their collaboration

Society needs to strengthen the competence of the working professionals and make sure that competence is supplied. The University of Gävle together with Gävle municipality now takes the next step to developing the Gävle region into an attractive environment for mankind.

More need higher education

Employers demand higher and higher competence. To increase the competitiveness of both the individual and society, more are in need of higher education. The collaboration will promote a study pattern where higher education is natural opportunity. We want to extend our attractiveness through offering an attractive study time and a good living environment. One should be able to live, be, operate and develop during the student years and in the future.

Increased growth through research and education

Our region’s growth contributes to a positive development in Sweden and internationally. Together we shall create conditions for research and education to be economically strong locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

New competence in interaction
In a changing society increased consensus between demand and competence, the individual’s choice and the educational system is needed. New competence emerges in the interaction between the academic world and the municipality’s activities

- I am very pleased that the university and Gävle municipality now makes a mutual effort to streamline and reinforce our already extensive collaboration, says Vice-Chancellor Maj-Britt Johansson.

In connection with the signing of the contract Wednesday the 20th of august all media are also invited to ask question and receive information about the collaboration.
