Iceland’s leading airline Icelandair is offering an incredible package deal to experience the Northern Lights in the country’s northern-most city, Akureyri.

The Special Children Travel Fund (Vildarbörn), an organisation set up by Icelandair, is giving children with long-term illnesses an opportunity to travel with their families and make their dream journeys a reality.

Iceland has recently been crowned as the Best European Country as part of the Guardian, Observer, and guardian.co.uk Readers’ Travel Awards 2012 - the fourth occasion this year that the country has been named as a top travel destination.
