The world's top songwriters have landed in Stockholm

Today, some of the world’s most talented songwriters gather in Stockholm to experience the creative atmosphere in the Swedish capital. During three days, 45 songwriters from all over the world will come together, experiment and create magic at the 2018 Stockholm Songwriting Camp.

The aim of Stockholm Songwriting Camp is to provide a neutral platform for embracing creativity and instigating relationships across the songwriting world. Invest Stockholm has been a proud partner to the camp since inception four years ago.

”Some of the world’s most successful songs have been written in Stockholm by Avicii, Max Martin and ABBA to name a few. Now we want the next generation of songwriters to have a chance to engage in our music scene. That's why we love the Stockholm Songwriting Camp. Not only is it an opportunity for talents from around the world to experience our creative atmosphere here in Stockholm, it’s also an opportunity for us to share our values and beliefs in equality and diversity in the music industry”, says Julika Lamberth, Business Development Manager for Creative Industries at Invest Stockholm.

This year's participants include Marlon Roudette (founding member of Mattafix as well as a solo breakout artist and songwriter), Mónica Vélez (Latin Grammy winning songwriter and Mexican songwriter advocate), Nisj (Swedish Grammi Winning producer), Eric Ng (Award winning, and one of Asia’s most sought after songwriter and producer), Emily Kusunoki (Japan’s highly talented and record breaking songwriter), MADFUN (Swedish female production duo) amongst others.

“I’ve had the privilege of being in the same room as some 30 young songwriters at one of the camps and it was an incredibly uplifting experience. The energy and the burning wish to write the best song ever is a wish we share over generations. I’m glad I can support this fantastic initiative!” says former ABBA-member Björn Ulvaeus, songwriter and camp supporter.
