Swedish textile industry is investing in local production and international expansion with new owners.

Jonas Wåhlander and Jan Carlstein did take over the ownership of Nife Textil 13/2 2013 (including Rydboholm stextil, Ljungbergs textil). Both are entrepreneurs with a background in e-commerce, product development and IT. They have long had the vision to invest in stable, Swedish companies with development potential. And Nife Textiles Ltd is precisely that

The company has unique expertise in preparation, dyeing and printing garnments. Today, the main business is located in the Rydboholm factory and it includes both craftsmanship and advanced high-tech equipment. Initially we will operate with four production lines, rotary printing, hand printing, plan printing and digital printing, specializing in the manufacturing of Eco-labels according to the EU’s strict environmental, functional and qualitstative requests with the future generations in mind, says Jonas Wåhlander.

Today we have 35 employees at the factory with working with contract manufacturing under the name Rydboholm and own products under the name Ljungberg textil.

Two million yards of fabric produced every year, with sales of about 50 million. But the company has a real design treasure in its ownership and will deliver it to the world in the forthcoming future. The company is already active internationally with sales in the USA and Japan, but the expansion has just begun. - There are approximately 8000 templates in the archive. In Rydboholm most classic Swedish patterns are printed from the 50s onwards;  patterns from Viola Gråsten, Stig Lindberg, Sven Merkelius and Lisa Larsson, to name a few.

- Swedish craftsmanship that we take out into the world through selected retailers and through a new e-commerce platform, continues Jonas Wåhlander. We will strengthen our corporate identity and position in the public environment, and focus on selling through selected retailers.

Moreover, it is not only the textile patterns, but will do more.  Interest in Swedish and Nordic design is unchanged at a large and with the knowledge and technology available in the company; we will focus on local production of high quality items that stands up over time. We will work with our existing designers, forgotten gems and new designers.
